Open the Circles tab and tap Create Group. Give your circle a name, then invite people to it. On the free plan you can have one circle with up to 5 members.

Open your circle and choose Invite. Share the invite code, or let them scan the QR code. They’ll need FamPin installed on their own iPhone or iPad.

In the Circles tab, tap Join Group. Then scan the QR code or enter the invite code you were sent.

Not yet. FamPin is available for iPhone and iPad only.

Ask them to check these on their device:

1. In iOS Settings, go to Privacy & Security, then Location Services, then FamPin. Choose Always and turn on Precise Location.
2. In iOS Settings, go to General, then Background App Refresh, and make sure it’s on for FamPin.
3. In FamPin, make sure Ghost Mode is off and location sharing is on, under Settings, then Privacy & Sharing.
4. Check the phone has a data connection and isn’t switched off or out of battery.

Low Power Mode can also slow down background updates.

Open the Places tab and add a place, such as Home or School. Search for an address or drop a pin, then set the place’s size. Everyone in the circle gets an alert when someone arrives or leaves. The free plan includes 3 places.

Make sure notifications are allowed for FamPin in iOS Settings, under Notifications. Arrive and leave alerts also need the other person to allow Always location access, so their phone can detect the place in the background.

FamPin uses precise location while the app is open and lighter, lower-power updates in the background. Live tracking and Drive Mode update more often while they’re on, so they use more battery.

1. On the map or in the Circles tab, tap the person whose phone is missing.
2. Check its last location, and tap Get Directions if it helps.
3. Tap Mark Device as Lost. The phone plays a loud alert, shows a full-screen alert, and everyone in the circle is told it’s missing.

The lost phone needs a data connection, FamPin installed and signed in, and notifications allowed. If it’s switched off or out of battery, you’ll still see the last location it shared.

1. Open the iOS Settings app and tap your name.
2. Tap Subscriptions, then FamPin.
3. Tap Cancel Subscription. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before your trial or billing period ends.

Deleting the app or your account doesn’t cancel a subscription.

Sign in with the same Apple ID you bought with. In FamPin, go to Settings, tap Upgrade to Premium, then tap Restore.

Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are too. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

The people in the circles you join. Nobody can see you until you accept an invite and allow location access. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Go to Settings, then Privacy & Sharing, and turn on Ghost Mode. FamPin stops sending your location until you turn it off. Your circle may still see the last location you shared.

Go to Settings, then Privacy & Sharing, and tap Leave All Groups. You’ll stop sharing with everyone until you join a circle again.

Go to Settings, then Privacy & Sharing, then Data & Privacy, and tap Delete My Account. Read what gets deleted.
